A set of six late 17th century dining chairs, having arcaded open backs with small single lunette carved panels, plank seats and turned front legs with central stretcher, and plain double stretchers at the sides and single at the back. These chairs probably originate from the Lancashie / Staffordshire area. The chairs have old supports added to the arcaded backs where some of the backs have developed old splits/breaks, one of the upright timbers of the backs has an old repair too. The chairs overall are in excellent condition, and have superb colour and patination.
