A large 16th century and later Westphalian oak coffer of fine colour and patination.
The coffer is of typical form, having a four paneled front consisting of carved linen fold panels with a large iron lock plate in the centre.
The dual paneled sides having plain panels and the plank top having a rounded molding to the edges and superb colour.
The coffer has some old wood worm and also some warping/separation to the plank top and to the bottom boards to the interior, commiserate with age but otherwise it very robustly constructed and in excellent condition.
