Raised on cabroile legs with scroll toes and carved knees, the carved arms and unusual spindle back supporting an upholstered top rail. The chair stands on 4 original brass castors that all bear the mark "Howard & Sons London". In very good condition having recently been re-upholstered. 760mm high, 630mm wide, 750mm, deep and 400mm seat height. Circa 1860. W J Gravener Antiques is a family owned business, started in 1963 by William who was joined by son, Mark in 1981 and continues today with the same ethos of dealing in fine quality English and Continental furniture, mirrors and decorative objects, from the 18th & 19th centuries.
