A superior quality pair of 19th.C. Carolean style walnut armchairs of good colour and proportions. The unusual top rails having carved figures holding swags of harebells and flanked by shaped shields. Below are leather pads with brass studded detail set within well carved frames and supported on barley twist columns. The open arms having carved acanthus detail and again with barley twist supports. The conforming leather seats again with studded brass detail and all raised on barley twist legs and cross stretchers with carved patrea detail.The pair chairs are in excellent condition and re-upholstered in quality leather.
