In very good and original condition and made from fine Cuban mahogany. Raised on ogee feet with carved moldings above which is one long and two short, cock-beaded drawers with original handles and locks. Moving further up the waist molding is also carved as are the moldings surrounding the fielded panels of the doors. The cornice is again carved and the whole is a very good colour and patina. 1630mm high, 1330mm wide and 670mm deep. Circa 1755.

A "Cloaths Press" (18th century spelling) of very similar design is illustrated in Thomas Chippendale's "The Gentleman and Cabinet Makers Director" Plate number CXXIX.
