9 Tublar Bells London Musical Longcase Clock
A fine and grand 19th century oak cased quarter striking musical 8 day longcase.
A fine example of an original Edwardian chiming grandfather antique clock in a solid oak case with fine Lentil carved design, Corinthian columns and blind fretwork.
The fabulous quality German movement was top of the range of its day, having every adjustment you could possibly hope for to give the most amazing sound. It has dead beat pallets, beat adjustment, maintaining power, and plays a choice of either Westminster or Whittington Chimes on a series of eight tubular gongs and strikes the hour on a large tubular gong. Lovely resonance sound comes through the side frets and rear full length sound fret also.
The full-length beveled edge glass door shows the plated weights, pendulum and Gold plated polished tubular gongs.
The arch dial has fine silver-plated decoration, with gilt Roman numerals set within an engraved minute track, chime/silent and chime selection dials in the arch and a subsidiary seconds indication dial.
The 8 day movement strikes to the hour and half hour marker on the Original Tubular Bells. The movement has been recently serviced and Oiled keeping very good time striking as it should.
The case does not have any woodworm,
The chimes have a very nice long tone,
All the parts to this clock are without damage and original to the clock case
All castings to the case are without damage or loss just perfect, The have extremely fine quality clock every attention to detail, truly A palace or museum antique clock.
