A rare opportunity to acquire an unused 22ct gold plated Stratton compact set. The makers of the Stratton brand had a gold plated range and this is the creme de la creme of the range. The compact and 'Lipview' lipstick holder/mirror are fully coated with high quality 22 ct gold. Not only are the lids gold plated but the entire items, including the interiors. The lids have been engraved by hand and the bright-cut engraving gleams on even the dullest day. The images do not do this set justice. All hinges and clasps work perfectly. The mirrors give clear and accurate reflections. The set comes with the original suedette case. The original features are present (puff, pouches) and they are pristine. The pale fawn suedette pouches are signed 'Stratton' in elegant gilt script. The puff is even paler fawn and the Stratton signature is imprinted on to it. The compact measures 3" and weighs 104.6 grams. The lipstick holder mirror measures 2 1/2" and weighs 19.8 grams.
