A most elegant 19th century 8-day striking mantel antique clock, circa 1875. The JAPY Freres 8-day movement striking the hours and half hours on a bell, which gives a lovely mellow chime. The gilt neo-classical case surmounted with an urn over a dial with Roman numerals, flanked by maidens. The case inset with floral porcelain plaques. The antique clock is supplied with a key, pendulum and the original glass dome. Ht 36, W 42, D 14 cms. Frank Craig Antiques established 1972, with 50 years in the antique trade.
