This is very handsome Empire style French hall / console table dating from the early 19th century. It has a very smart figured black marble top which has a historic repair but is now not really noticeable. The table otherwise is in excellent condition with a delightful rich colour to the flame mahogany veneer. The drawer to the frieze is in good order and the back retains its original 19th century plate glass mirror. This would be ideal as a hall /side or alcove table and has very compact proportions measuring 90 cm high, with the marble top being 82 cm wide by 40 cm deep.
