A rare find, 12 piece vintage English dinner service by Grindley, Marlborough 'Chatsworth' Exotic Birds pattern. Manufactured in 1954 and was a wedding gift for my mother and father-in-law who have both now sadly passed away and as remaining family members are already stacked out with their own china, we are selling.
There are the following pieces:
12 Soup Bowls (9" Diameter)
12 Side Plates (7" Diameter)
12 Large Dinner Plates (10" Diameter)
12 Small Dinner Plates (9" Diameter)
4 Serving / Meat Platters (1 large (14" x 11.5"), 2 medium (12" x10") and 1 small (11" x 9")
4 Lidded Vegetable Dishes (Bowl 9" Diameter)
3 Gravy / Sauce Boats

On a few pieces there is some minor crackling of the transparent glaze, but overall the condition good for an old but much loved dining set. One of the meat platters and one of the vegetable dishes have some minor discolouration and there is a small chip on one of the side plates (but this is the only chip!) - see photos.
Included in the price are 2 extra soup bowls (making 14 in total), 3 extra large dinner plates (making 15 in total) and 3 extra small dinner plates (making 15 in total), so you have some spares in case of any breakages!
This is a wonderful, traditional English dining set with brightly painted exotic birds and fruit. Fabulous for that special occasion / Christmas lunch.
