1930s Display Cabinet

A striking and highly decorative 1930s cocktail display cabinet converted for use in a pharmacy , with a reverse-painted glass advertising panels. The cabinet is veneered in beautifully burr walnut and finished in a warm tone that highlights the natural character of the wood. The upper section is fitted with large glass panels to the front and sides, allowing items displayed inside to be viewed clearly from multiple angles.
The glass doors have a painted glass signage, reading “Pharmacy,” “Druggist,” “Herbalist,” and “& Perfume,” along with the name “Walton and Son” across the central panels.
Below, the cabinet features a pair of doors decorated with the “Balms, Potions, Elixirs” and “Pure Herbal Tonics,” opening to reveal useful internal storage. The cabinet stands on elegant carved cabriole legs, adding a refined and slightly traditional touch to what was originally a practical piece of shop furniture.
A wonderful and unusual example of early retail display furniture, equally suited to a boutique interior, bar display, or as a distinctive statement piece in the home.
