18thc walnut longcase clock Watson of Blackburn


An attractive walnut arch dial brass face longcase clock, 8 day movement fully serviced,
swan neck pediment above box strungf cushion moulded door, tapering reeded pillars, particularly pleasing engraved face with original moon phase paintwork, rising and setting celestial bodies, the silvered chapter ring with roman numerals and arabic seconds, centre engraved with pheasant & 'mind my movements' underneath. Box strung quarter columns, strung door with bookmatched walnut door, end grained cantered corner mouded base, stood on subtle shaped bracket foot. The colour of the case a nice golden brown. Quite uncommon to see a case of this style in walnut, lovely quality. Watson recorded in loomes as working in blackburn lancashire 1770-1795. Dimensions
