18th century oak Country house oak chest on chest
A beautiful elegant early eighteenth century chest on stand , a very useful piece of classic country house antique furniture .Dating 1720/40 in very good condition ,the handles and back plates are the originals (2 pulls replaced ) and it has its steel locks .The drawer configuration to the base is very unusual with two long drawers whilst the top is more conventional with a 2 over three arrangement and they are pine lined ,at some point the runners were restored very well and sympathetically and they are all running freely .the richly patinated oak finish is the original and we have cleaned and finished with traditional bees wax , minor traces of extinct worm have been treated as a precaution .Standing on well formed C scrolled shoulders on slender cabriole legs terminating in pad feet .
