This is a stunning 8 Day longcase clock by Aaron Brown of Earith, Cambridgeshire, dating from circa 1760. The antique clock has a wonderful deep green chinoiserie case decorated with oriental panels depicting interior temple figural scenes. The case has a wonderful rich colour and beautiful gilding and is in super condition save for an historic split to base section which is quite sound. The clock has a pagoda pediment and a 12 inch arched brass dial with a silvered moonphase, the centre with seconds, a date aperture and the maker's signature. This has a five pillar movement with an anchor escapement and strikes on a bell. The movement has been fully restored and has a years running guarantee.
This clock has lovely proportions measuring 92" in height 19" wide by 9" deep.
