This branch operated under the English translated name of ‘Richard & Co.’ (abbreviated to R&Co., or R&C), and this clock would have been one of their leading range of carriage clocks made at the Rue Bondy factory in Paris and exported to London specifically for the English market. The company closed their London offices in 1881 but continued to operate in Paris until the outbreak of WWI.
