Antique Miniature Dining Table
Antique Miniature Dining Table rare and unusual walnut miniature drawer leaf dining table possibly made as a salesman's sample.
The table is in walnut on oak with square legs the table top and under frame is a precise craftsmens cabinet makers made miniature version of a dining table the table top has 2 extra table leaves That sit under the 2 table top leaves.
This table Has a very unusual automatic mechinism for extending the table this works by pulling either of the top leaves to open the top leaves so the extra under leaves used for enlarging the table automaticaly pop up and position themselves in to place .
Either one or both of the hidden leave for making the table larger can be used for having the table at diffirent sizes .
The Table Would Have been made as a traveling furniture salesmans furniture sample circa 1900 -1920s to show to clients ie furniture retailers department stores or shops etc the new magic opening & closing automatic mechinism used in the design of the table and of course the high quality of the full size version of this table he would have been trying to sell to the furniture trade of the period .
This table is a rare wonderful piece of antique folk art with good quality cabinet makers skills used throughout being a precise miniature of a full size dining table.
