William IV Flame Mahogany Compactum Wardrobe
This attractive compactum wardrobe dates from around the 1820s/30s. Please note that it is in need of some restoration. The wardobe has a hanging section to either side - both with later replacement rails, and one of which would originally have been shelved. In between the hanging sections is chest of three drawers with two-door cupboard above with a single removable shelf inside. The piece is supported on an inverted plinth base. The sections retain locks, but please note that no key is present. Please not that it splits down into five pieces for ease of transportation.
Condition: Overall this handsome piece is in usuable condition but does have some wear consistent with age and use and would benefit from some restoration work. It has some signs of restoration and repair - both the hanging rails are replacements and the side that would originally have been shelved is missing its shelf. There is some quite heavy scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall a little faded. There are some paint marks and some losses and cracking to the wood and veneer in places. There is no key present. The piece would benefit from sympathetic restoration.
The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 183.5cm high, 182.5cm wide, 49cm deep (to maximums). Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
We can arrange delivery of both smaller items and furniture - please contact us for details and a quote. Customers are also welcome to use their own couriers if preferred.
Payment can be made by PayPal, bank transfer, cheque [UK only], and cash on collection.
