Circa 1900. A quality double buffet by ‘Whytock & Reid of Edinburgh’. The top with quarter matching flamed mahogany, with a shaped ¾ gallery. To the front there is a configuration of a pair of narrow drawers over a pair of deeper drawers, each of the drawers has book matched flamed mahogany and stylish ‘Lorimeresque’ drop handles with a stylish back plate. The tops of the drawers are stamped ‘Whytock & Reid of Edinburgh’ and lined in ash. Beneath the bottom drawer there is a shaped frieze, the whole piece rests on five cabriole legs with slight carving on the top and finishing on an unusually large pad foot.
