Waltham Ensign pocket watch, 1897

The watch has a stem-winding movement, Ensign grade, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and the serial number 7999237 dates it back to 1897. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch measures 48mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is 14ct gold filled and it is in good condition with just the odd small mark.
We suspect that the case and movement did not start life together, a replacement movement may have been a more viable option than a specific repair at the time.
The acrylic lens is in good condition.
The signed dial has a couple of hairlines but they are faint.
