This vintage powder compact is suitable for use with loose face powder or as a handbag mirror.

A beautiful 1950s Stratton 'Rondette' powder compact with an attractive gold tone feather motif set in low relief. The gold tone lid decoration is satinized - brushed to make it look like satin & it does. The whole compact is in very good condition. All clasps & hinges work perfectly. The mirror gives an excellent reflection as you will see on image two. The original mirror sticker is in place. This compact is fitted with a self-opening lid, a mechanism that was invented to protect ladies from breaking their nails when they opened the inner lid. Just tilt the mirror back slightly & the inner lid opens. It works perfectly every time. The powder well is protected by a waxed paper insert. The original sifter is in place & so this compact can be used with loose face powder. The base is decorated with stars & signed 'Stratton MADE IN ENGLAND'.

This vintage compact mirror measures 2 3/4" & weighs 75 grams.
