This is a vintage ordnance stick stand. An English, WW2 militaria fired brass munition shell, dating to 1944.

Base replete with various markings indicative of its origin and purpose
17PR round of Lot No. 1444, produced for the war effort at Royal Laboratories Birtley in 1944
Round found service in several tanks including the Sherman Firefly and the 17 PDr anti-tank gun
