Vintage Large Burr Walnut Breakfront Cabinet
A lovely vintage burr walnut display cabinet. We date this cabinet to the first half of the 20th century.
The cabinet sits on four Queen Anne legs with pad feet and a small carved gallery to the rear.
The front of the cabinet is of a three panel design with each panel being a side hinged door. The middle door being a solid panel front and the two outer doors being glazed.
The central door front has decorative mouldings. The outer doors are glazed with glass panes housed in wood glazing strips forming an attractive pattern.
There are attractive carvings around the top and the base.
All three doors are provided with working locks (key supplied).
The interior of the central cupboard is fitted with two removable wooden shelves, the top shelf has had a drop front added at some time in the past, this can be easily removed if required. Each outer cupboard is fitted with two glass fixed height removable shelves.
The cabinet has an overall height of 51" (130cm) including the gallery, a top surface height of 47" (120cm), a width of 49" (125cm) and a depth of 13.5" (35cm).
This lovely burr walnut cabinet remains in very good solid condition with only very minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage including some very light scratches and wear to the top surface from past use.
This remains a very stylish and elegant display cabinet which could house a reasonable sized collection of objects d'art etc. It will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
