Antique / vintage powder compacts compact mirrors SWEET PETALS bridesmaids something old gifts for her

A delightful authentic Art Deco guilloche powder compact with a powder dispensing mechanism. As you can see from image one the lid has a complex guilloche design - a tiny flower with twelve petals & it is in very good condition. The lid opens to reveal a rotating powder dispensing mechanism which still works. It is such a bonus that the original unused puff is in place & the instruction leaflet too. The instruction leaflet reads as follows ' "SWEET PETALS" Sifter Box for Loose Powder. DIRECTIONS FOR USE. Fill the container through the wide aperture and close by sliding top plate until perforated portion is exposed. Tap box on puff to obtain required quantity of powder.' The puff is well made & clean with a neat border sewn with salmon pink cotton. All clasps & hinges work well. The mirror gives a very good reflection although it has lots of subtle age spots. However, they do not prevent this antique compact from being a good mirror compact. The base is decorated with a coarse spiral & signed 'SWEET PETALS MADE IN ENGLAND'.

This delightful antique compact measures 4.7 cm & weighs 25.5 grams.
