Victorian Walnut Oak Twin Pedestal Desk Writing
Antique large Victorian C1880 oak twin pedestal desk writing table (possibly Continental European origins).
Pollarded oak veneer to the fronts of the pedestals (looks a bit like burr walnut, but less common).
Lovely patinated (with wear and marks) leather top.
This is a lovely piece, that is full of age, charm and character.
Solid, heavy quality piece with no loose joints....a very rare find.
This is a one piece desk (does not come apart).
The drawer and cupboards open and close freely.
Would look great in the right location!
Overall maximum dimensions 157cmW x 76.5cmD x 76.5cmH (61cmH knee hole).
Historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, wear, imperfections, repairs and alterations, as is always the way and to be expected with genuine antique furniture. There are just a few historic extinct woodworm holes, that we have treated for good measure. We have no keys and the locks are consequently untested. The veneer on the feet/bottom plynth (at the base of the pedestals) has gone a bit crinkly/flakey/bubbly, but given where it is, this is not too noticeable.
Please note that this item is large and heavy. Please make sure before buying that it will fit in and can be maneuvered into the room that it is intended for. The customer will need to provide a strong able bodied person for our driver to assist with carrying.
