Victorian teak Wellington chest
This Victorian teak Wellington chest was made circa 1880.
It is made in teak as much of the campaign antique furniture, and so this could well have been made for an officer to take on his exploits in the East.
This Wellington chest has a double locking bar system, the one to the left with inset sliding stays and the one to the right with a lock and key.
Applied to each drawer are the original indexing holders.
The 10 graduated drawers each have the original turned knob handles.
The Wellington chest stands on a chamfered plinth.
These forms of chests have many uses and can be used in lots of situations around your home.
It would be good if this could talk and tell us where it had served it use in its 100years of use.
65cms wide 29 1/2ins
45cms deep 17 3/4ins
144.5cms high 49ins
