Victorian Smoker's Bow Armchair
This smoker's bow armchair dates from around c.1880s. It is constructed from what we believe to be beech and elm, with a shaped seat, back and arms, turned spindle supports and turned legs with stretchers (please note that the middle stretched is missing).
Condition: Overall this attractive piece is in usuable condition, but would benefit from some tlc. There is some quite heavy scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and the piece is overall significantly faded. Much of the varnished finish has been worn away over time. The chair shows some signs of old restoration and repair - there are some repaired breaks to the top of the chair and later screws have been fitted to strengthen the piece. The middle stretcher is missing and requires replacement.
The approx. measurements are as follows:
Overall - 80cm high, 57cm wide, 47cm deep (to maximums). Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
We can arrange delivery of both smaller items and furniture - please contact us for details and a quote. Customers are also welcome to use their own couriers if preferred.
Payment can be made by PayPal, bank transfer, cheque [UK only], and cash on collection.
