Victorian Rosewood Serpentine Davenport Writing Table
Antique quality Victorian 19C rosewood davenport writing table desk.
This is a lovely quality davenport, that is full of age, charm and character.
Fantastic serpentine styling with twist columns.
Period brass castors (some wear).
4 active drawers (mahogany lined and slide freely) on the RHS. 4 dummy drawers on the LHS.
Later leather writing surface with some wear and patina.
Sliding top section to permit knee hole.
No significant woodworm.
Mainly veneer on mixed wood construction, as you would expect.
Lovely patina and colour, would look amazing in the right location!
Overall maximum dimensions 67cmW x 59cmD (74cm with top slid forwards) x 85cmH x 78<82cmH writing surface x 61cmH knee hole.
Historic knocks, marks, cracks, scratches, wear, imperfections, repairs and alterations, as is always the way and to be expected with genuine antique furniture. No keys and locks are consequently untested. Signs of restoration as one might expect and there is no letter writing compartment. Some stains and marks inside the drawers (to be expected).
