Large Victorian Rosewood Library Gothic Carved bookcase
This Victorian piece is made in solid Rosewood and probably the heaviest piece I have ever come across
The cupboard or bookcase is highly carved, there are side columns with Green Man style Faces on both the top and bottom sections with vines and leaves but almost all the flat surfaces have a Linen Fold carving covering them
Even though there is such rich detailed carving you can still see the beautiful grain of the Rosewood
The Library Cupboard or Book Case is a very tall piece, it is in two sections, a glazed bookcase to the top and a very deep double cupboard to the base.
The top section has adjustable shelves and the lower section has two drawers and two doors, each of which encloses a shaped shelf inside the cupboard and it all stands on stout bun feet
The Cupboard is in excellent condition with very little in the way of blemishes probably because Rosewood is so hard it wears well
