A really unusual late Victorian or Edwardian biscuit box or barrel dating to around 1900. These often double duty as ice buckets, really perfect on a home bar or cart and highly decorative.

The frame is quite beautiful and the glass fits perfectly. The glass is too in great condition without damage with a ground pontil mark on the base showing that it was hand blown. The glass is topped with a lift-off lid and the handle folds or stands up, perfect when displaying.

The underside of the frame has a full mark for the well respected silversmith, James Dixon and Sons of Sheffield. Excellent condition, standing 8 1/2" tall to top of handle while upright.
