Sterling Silver Pocket Watch, Harris Stone, Leeds
A GOOD SILVER CASED SWISS MADE POCKET WATCH by HARRIS STONE, LEEDS c1925.
A good, gentleman's sterling silver cased Pocket Watch retailed by Harris Stone, Leeds and dating from c1925.
This watch is a good example, in nice condition and in good working order.
The sterling silver case is in good condition, all covers opening and closing tightly as they should. It has full English hallmarks for sterling silver. The sponsor's mark "GS" for Stockwell & Co (George Stockwell), the ".925" sterling silver mark, the London town import mark and the date letter "k" for 1925/26. The rear of the case with engine turned engraving and a central cartouche that is free of initials.
The white enamel dial is in good condition, however does have some hairlines between two and three o'clock. It has the hours in Roman numerals and a sub-seconds dial at six o'clock. It is signed "Harris Stone, Leeds".
The good quality, Swiss made Lever movement is in excellent working order.
The watch measures 53mm in diameter (across the case, excluding the winding crown).
