Small Late 17th Century Three Panelled Coffer
This is an English late 17th century carved oak coffer with a three panelled front and double panelled sides of small proportions and possessing superb colour and patina. It not only has a chip carved arcaded frieze but the stiles and apron are stamped with noughts (or horseshoes) and crosses (or stars) separated by lines. The top lifts on two wrought iron hinges
Its easy to accommodate size, panelled sides, attractive carving and original patina all help to make this coffer stand out from the crowd.
Dimensions: Width 104 x Depth 47 x Height 51 cm
This is an unusually small coffer perfect for more compact halls, living rooms and bedrooms. Though of small size it does provide good storage space.
Condition: Sturdily constructed with all joints firm and in good original condition. There is a repair to the front where the lock plate has been replaced by a smaller escutcheon. The interior lacks its candle box.
Delivery: Our preferred delivery man can deliver this coffer to most places on mainland England and Wales for £60. Please contact us to confirm the delivery cost to your address.
