Small lacquered Japanese shodana table cabinet
A small early 20th century Meiji period Japanese gold and black lacquered table cabinet.
This small shodana cabinet is finished in a gold and black lacquer with pagoda shaped top consisting of an arrangement of drawers, open shelves and a cupboard, these having gold and black lacquered decoration consisting of Oriental fans with foliate, floral and bird decoration, this being carried round to the sides and rear of the piece.
The shodana also has white metal knob handles and mounts with gold Greek key pattern decoration to the base.
This piece is in good condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home - it would make an ideal jewellery, collectors box etc.
