Small French amboyna writing table
Very good quality and decorative French amboyna and mahogany small writing table or bon heure du jour, but would work very well as a sofa table, or perhaps a hall console table, also a dressing table with a wall mounted mirror.
Beautifully made and in good condition with a rich, original colour tone.
Looking from the top, you will see three panels. The left and right panel are hinged for storage space, lifted by a hidden brass pin from inside the bottom drawers.
The central panel is fixed, below which you have three further drawers, the top having an additional gilt tooled leather writing slide.
Finished with lovely brass drop handles and mounts to the fluted legs, finished with further brass capped feet.
This piece can free stand as it is finished on all sides.
Lovely piece and so decorative with the burr amboyna.
Measuring:
29’’ or 74cm high
25 1/2’’ or 65cm wide
15 3/4’’ or 40cm deep
kneehole is 20 1/4’’ or 51.5cm
underside of drawer with slide is 26’’ or 66cm high
