Fine example of an early 18th.c. oak six plank coffer or sword chest c.1700. Of elemental design, made from six solid oak boards (good grain to the top and front) with an arch cutaway at the sides to make the feet. With the original iron lock plate and later hinges. Of good length and sturdy enough to sit on to use as a window seat or hall bench, with the advantage of storage inside. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
Dimensions: width 50″, depth 13″, height 20″.
