Silver Plate and Cut Crystal Biscuit Box c.1880
A truly exquisite top quality biscuit box, English in origin and Victorian in era dating to around 1880.
The box is made from a hefty piece of crystal with a series of diagonal ribs interspersed with linear cuts to create a most attractive design.
The base sits on three original bun feet and the underside fully marked and signed by the London retailer, "S. Smith, King Street, Covent Garden".
The base and lid are both beautifully decorated with an engine turned design and the hinged lid topped with a very regal looking crown inspired finial.
Superb condition. 7 3/4" in diameter (max) x 8 1/2" tall the lid diameter measuring 5 1/2".
