Silver pair cases - Ellicot, London, c1760

A continental contemporary fake of a London watch. Reasonable quality and probably made in Holland or Switzerland around 1760.
MOVEMENT Signed (Ellicot, London) and numbered (5003) gilt brass verge movement, with four square pillars, engraved balance cock and plate, and silver regulator disc. In complete and good condition with nice bright gilding. Running well.
DIAL Signed white enamel dial, in good condition, with just one small repair right on the edge at 3.
INNER CASE Silver. Maker's mark KKF. Reasonable condition throughout though a number of creases and small dents. Engraved with owner's initials (C.A.B). The high dome bull's eye crystal is good with just one tiny chip on the edge and the bezel snaps shut nicely.
OUTER CASE Silver. Like the inner, with a few bruises and dents. An old repair where the hinge has been strengthened. The hinge and catch are fine and the case closes nicely.
Typical of continental cases of this period, the silver is thin of light gauge though these cases are not too bad.
The Ellicott family were quality London makers during the mid and late18th century. Their name was commonly used by continental makers though this watch is unusual in having the dial as well as movement signed. Most continental makers didn't bother to go this far.
