Here is an example of a superb quality set of 6 antique French Louis XV revival carved oak provincial ladder-back dining chairs, circa 1900. The chairs are heavy in weight, which is a good sign of quality. The shaped backs are carved with floral patterns to the top ladder likewise the front of the seat frame is caved with a floral pattern. Thee back of the chair are supported by several shaped horizontal splats. The drop-in-seats features the original wood frame rush seats, which are in good condition. The front legs have a very pretty cabriole design, which terminate in a curved roll at the feet. Underneath, the chairs are connected with four stretchers to ensure they are sturdy. The backs of the legs are shaped which is a sign of good quality. The chairs are firm and would look good anywhere especially as they are comfortable and consume little space.

Condition This is a true set of chairs (not a matched set) and they are in excellent condition. The seats feature the original rush drop in seats and they are in good condition. All chair frames are in excellent condition and have no breaks to the legs or backs of the chairs. This set of chairs boasts the original polish, which ensures a fantastic depth of colour to the oak. All chairs are solid in joint, do not wobble and are free of woodworm.
