Handsome little mid 19th.c. rosewood Davenport writing desk c.1860. Slope top with leather writing surface and brass gallery over four drawers of graduated depth. Superb figured rosewood veneers arranged in a symmetrical pattern to the front and rear and a fine pair of turned columns. Open the top to reveal two small drawers (and a longer dummy drawer) with birds eye maple fronts. Pull the left hand knob on the dummy drawer front to allow a pen tray to slide out from the side. Mahogany drawer linings and original brass castors. Damage to the leather otherwise excellent condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops.
