Unusual pair of oriental style drum or barrel stools or side antique tables c.1920. In papier mache with a gilt lacquer finish with chinoiserie style decoration. Hand painted in black with an oriental landscape to one side, flowers on the reverse and birds to tops. With handles modelled as Chinese guardian lions or ‘foo dogs’ to the sides. Some obvious wear and repairs to the top of one stool. Otherwise good condition, solid and sturdy
Dimensions: width 19″, depth 16″, height 19″.
