Pair of Art Deco Armchairs c1930's
A near pair of Art Deco bentwood cantilever lounge chairs, designed by J.P.Hully for P.E.Gane Bristol, inspired by the designs of Marcel Breuer and retailed through Heals of London c1930's. The frames have curved arms, curved sprung backs and stands on sledge feet. Both chairs have been professionally stripped and re-polished. Newly and completely re-upholstered to include new foam cushions for the seat and back which are removable. Both in very good condition.
Listing as a pair, but happy to sell individually.
Both chairs are the same width and seat depth, but one chair is slightly higher to the backrest.

I don't buy any items that need major restoration, but any loose joints are re-glued. Occasionally, some items may have small amounts of historic extinct woodworm, never enough to affect the integrity of the item, and is always treated as a matter of course. We try to describe and show our items the best we can, and we use studio lighting which sometimes lightens the colour slightly on some of the furniture. All lamps are rewired and PAT tested. Every item we sell we would have in our home (some of them have been!!) It is impossible to describe every item fully, so please feel free to email or call for more information or any queries you may have. The items will have no major defects but will show signs of normal age related wear and use. I would prefer the items to show its life rather than strip it and re-polish it, as it's only original once!
