Ornate Art Deco Burr Walnut Swedish Desk
A very good quality and ornate Art Deco burr walnut Swedish freestanding partners desk.
This very stylish walnut desk dates to circa 1930 constructed in burr walnut with oak lined drawers originates from Sweden. The rectangular top with a well figured quarter veneered burred walnut grain and carved foliate ends above a fitted drawer to the kneehole flanked by pedestals enclosing storage and filing trays constructed from solid oak and boasting dovetail jointing. The cupboard doors having a magnificent burr walnut quarter veneer with ornate carved borders and fitted turned bun handles each having a recessed lock to each side with working keys for all doors and drawers. To the back is another cupboard door with shelved storage and a recessed shelved section for books . Raised on carved bracket feet this desk breaks down into two pieces for ease of movement the top plus the main body.
In excellent condition having been restored using traditional methods this desk has a fine colour with striking veneers and working keys to all locks.
