Mid 19th.c. Mahogany Bookcase. Victorian Mahogany Bookcase %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
Good looking mahogany bookcase or kitchen display c.1850. Known locally as a cwpwrdd gwydr, this was a type created by North Wales cabinet makers in the mid 19th.c. as they updated the traditional Welsh dresser. Typical of the form it has a glazed top and cupboard base each with two working doors either side of a fixed centre panel, with two useful drawers in the waist. The flared cornice, applied door panels, carved detail and pine sides are all original vernacular details. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops. Keys supplied.
