A lovely Mid-17thC English antique oak six plank boarded chest. English origin.
Nailed construction with original boards throughout.
With original hasp and lock plate - the hasp still shuts home into the lock plate.
The internal till (candlebox) remains.
Sourced from a private collection in Suffolk, England.
Condition - overall good as per images and ready to go. The original wire hinges were replaced historically with iron strap hinges however these have been again removed and reverted back to wire hinges (this repair work was undertaken by the previous owner prior to our acquisition). The single plank lid has split historically close to the hinges but has been repaired very well.
