Mid-size West End Watch Co Sowar Prima wrist watch.
The watch has a good quality hand-winding movement which is working nicely, it is signed with the W logo. The movement is protected by an inner cover.
The watch measures 28mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is stainless steel and it is in good condition, just some light marking to the signed screw-on case back.
The lens is in good condition.
The signed dial is in lovely condition and has blued steel Breguet style hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.
The name Sowar was registered by the West End Watch Co for watches destined for India and the Far East. The name Prima was added for the shockproof and waterproof models... although, as with any vintage watch, it should be kept away from water.
West End watches are difficult to date precisely but as an educated guess, we would say this piece dates back to the 1950s.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
