An excellent quality early 19thc Regency period, mahogany coaching folding side table c1820. This table has a solid mahogany folding top with good quality brass hinges. When open it is supported by its strong original swivel bracket. It has elegant curving crossover legs united by three turned stretchers. This table would have been used in the early 19th cent on coaching picnics and could be folded up for ease of travel. Today it would make an excellent side table, It is in excellent strong firm condition with its original patina and colour. Sizes when open: 34”(86cms) wide, 17”(43cms) deep, 28 ½ “(72cms) high. When closed:17”(43cms) wide, 5 ½ “(14cms) deep, 41”(105cms) high. Date circa 1820. I have reluctantly decided that after 60 years spent in this marvellous business it is, figuratively speaking, time to hang up my cheque book.
