Magazine - Newspaper revolving rack. brass & oak magazine rack William Tanks sons study %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
Antique revolving magazine or newspaper rack by W.T. & S. (William Tonks & Sons of Birmingham) with impressed mark on underside of oak base. Amusingly a rather pricey 'competitor' who can also be found on Antiques Atlas is offering a similar piece by the same maker, which they think might be W.I. & S, for a smidgin under £1000 with the assurance that it is French!
If you are happy to buy this 'as is' : i.e. straight out of the Victorian house in which it has resided for many a year and don't mind, or perhaps appreciate, its lack of glistening brass and the wear and tear of a century or so of use - its yours for £145.
An honest piece with wear commensurate with its age and use but eminently usable in its present state, or would easily respond to some TLC..
All items are covered by the Distance Selling Regulations which give buyers the right to cancel the purchase within seven days after receipt of the item for a full refund less RETURN transport costs
