Late 19thc Chinese hardwood pot stand with marble
A late 19thc Chinese hardwood pot stand in rosewood or padouk, with a marble insert.
The marble has a reddish/pink tone & is recessed into the top, surrounded by a ball bead carving.
There is a deep moulding with piercing & a frieze with intricate foliage carving leading to the top corners of the legs.
The top of the legs have a face of an open-mouthed dragon leading down to foliage carved decoration.
There is a circular, dished shelf leading down to ball & claw feet.
This table is ideal for displaying items or stands very well on its own.
These antique tables were made in the latter part of the 19thc mainly for the export market.
This piece is of sound construction and can go straight into a home.
