A very smart antique photograph frame made from English sterling silver with a fabulous raised border to the outer edge and surrounding the oval aperture.

This is a two-way picture, highly sought-after, being able to use it in either a landscape or portrait configuration.

The frame has an ebonised wooden backing incorporating the hinged folding two-way easel stand.

The silver is fully hallmarked for Sheffield 1917, a true antique example over 100 years old made by the well renowned silversmith, James Dixon and Sons.

Excellent condition measuring 9 5/8" x 6 7/8" with a glazed aperture measuring 7 1/2" x 4 3/4".
