Large French 19th Century Walnut Armoire
Large French 19th Century Walnut Armoire
This sturdy French Armoire in solid walnut is from south-west France.
A lovely piece of early French antique furniture with great mellowed colour and character.
The removable rounded top cornice sits above a pair of panelled doors with a working lock and key.
Inside are three removable solid shelves and plenty of space.
Below this is a full-width drawer with turned inset drawer pulls and dovetail joints.
In solid walnut with decorative carving above the door.
Overall in great condition for its age with only minor knocks and dents.
There is some old restoration to the cornice front corners that has been checked and found to be good. A small amount of historic worm that has been treated as a precautionary measure as it is long since gone.
Of pegged construction and for transport reasons comes flat-packed, having been dismantled with all parts labelled for easy reconstruction. Dowels and instructions are supplied.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Pyrontique is run by Derek Connor and Bea White, who are primarily online dealers of French and European antiques and unique decorative objets d'art supplying trade and private clients worldwide. Drawing on our inspiration of high quality, design-led and unique pieces, our ranges will be centering in 2019 on classic French antique furniture, Art Deco sculptures and furniture and more unique individual pieces, dating from early French antiques up to modern day contemporary pieces.
As with all antiques, there may be small normal signs of wear & tear due to the age of a piece and its history. We aim to describe our pieces accurately - please ask for more description and photos if you would like more information.
Every piece is checked by our qualified restorer with many years of extensive experience in a variety of settings. Some pieces occasionally have signs of historic old woodworm (which has long since disappeared, hence the holes) as is common with old French furniture. Any pieces with evidence of historic worm are always treated as a precautionary measure and subsequently cleaned and waxed when needed.
The wiring on electrical pieces is usually original (unless stated in the description) and we recommend that each piece is checked and fitted by a qualified electrician at installation.
