Large Antique Victorian Pair Of Carved Armchairs
An attractive pair of antique armchairs. We date these chairs to the late 19th century.
The chairs sit on lovely turned and carved legs and stretchers.
The chairs have a tall backrest with lovely carvings surrounding a central upholstered pad and a large well padded seat. The front legs continue up to support the armrests. The stretcher below the front of the seat pad also has attractive carvings.
The chairs are upholstered in a pale green patterned fabric.
The chairs have an overall height of 47.5" (121cm), an overall width of 28" (71cm), an overall depth of 31" (79cm), a backrest height of 29.5" (75cm), a seat height of 17.5" (45cm), a seat width of 21.5" (55cm) and a seat depth of 18.5" (47cm).
The chairs are in very good condition with minor surface marks commensurate with age and usage. The chairs have a bit of wear to the material and some mellowing to the armrests from past use. The finish on one chair is a tiny bit lighter than the other as can be seen in the pictures.
This remains a very stylish and elegant pair of antique armchairs. They are very comfortable and supportive to sit on and will continue to provide rest and relaxation for many years to come.
